Writer's Block: Happy Turkey Day!

What are you most thankful for?

View 593 Answers

Well, today, that they were able to pop my artificial hip back in place under general anesthesia. It was the third try since I did it on Tuesday morning, the next was to make a big incision. Nightmare! And I got home last night in time for a nice Thanksgiving dinner today! Everything hurts, like I lost a long boxing match, I am so scared it will pop out again, though! Happy Thanksgiving to my LJ friends in the US!

Writer's Block: A sight for sore eyes

What is the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen?

Oh golly, it's always the same answer in these types of questions, a slimy, bloody little preemie baby girl on my chest, a monitor lead sticking out of her scalp like a birthday candle. She had a huge head and the tiniest body, newborn clothes wouldn't fit for weeks. She slept 18 hours a day, I stared at her, and, after two miscarriages, willed this miracle not to die. When I see the 22 year old, her beauty still makes me catch my breath. I made this?

I wonder...

if there is anybody in this whole world as lonely as I am right now? And yet how lucky I am to have all that I do. My body isn't "hot" or young, and all my joints ache terribly, but I can stand and walk, even these throbbing hands can type. I learned how much to appreciate electricity when we lost it for five days last month. It got down to 49 degrees F in here, and even I was cold. I have delicious food, fresh water to drink and bathe in, lots of little luxuries and extras. But this all alone thing is fairly new to me, and so much harder than I knew. And if my husband could leave me like this, how will I ever trust anyone again?

Do you prefer fiction or non-fiction? Explain why.

Fiction, mostly science fiction and mysteries. For the same reason I hate "unscripted reality TV" haha. Write a plot, even a police procedural. Much more engrossing. Unless it's certain cooking shows and House Hunters International!!

If I were being put to death, just ginger beer to ease the terror vomit. If you want my favorite foods, all seafood, sushi, cheeseburgers, Pepsi, turkey dinner the way I make it, Mai Tais and Bombay Sapphire!

What was the most embarrassing day of your life?

I'm shameless, so all I can think of are the times my big mouth said something that the other person misinterpreted to be unkind and got hurt or angry. I am embarrassed by my big mouth frequently, but if my pants fall off in public or I have toilet paper on my shoe, eh, I don't care.

Took lessons in many things as a child. I can play a bit of piano, a bit of guitar, dance a bit of ballet and tap, sing my heart out off key.
